Photogrammetry is a process that turns hundred, often thousands, of photographs into a 3D model.

We need to photograph a wreck from every angle. This means smaller wrecks can be completed in a couple of dives, while larger projects can take many dives spread over weeks or months.

When we have the photographs we need, we use software that finds matching points across images, and stitches them together into a mesh made of millions of tiny triangles. That mesh is textured with the original photos to recreate colour and detail, producing an accurate model you can measure, and explore, making it perfect for research, conservation, or sharing a wreck’s story with the world.

Our 3D models are best viewed on a computer or tablet.
